P.P Giridhar a staff member of CIIL has won the prestigious International Centre for Writing and Translation(ICWT)(University of California at Irvine) Translation Grant for the year 2007-08.The responsibilities the award carries are: rendering into English the Kannada novel tottilu(=the cradle) by Mogalli Ganesh and travelling to Irvine to give a talk and a workshop on translation theory and practice.Giridhar heads the translation unit at the CIIL.He is the architect of the translation site www.anukriti.net and co-edits the journal Translation Today.
